Head Instructors:

 

Petr Studnicka

 

Petr is a former professional hockey player in Czech Republic and Dir. of Youth and Junior teams for the Czech National Program. He has the highest level of International Coaching license and is an experienced high-performance coach with a championship pedigree, and recently finished 5th place at this year’s 2019 World Juniors Tournament in Vancouver, BC.

Ryan Parent

 

Ryan Has coached at every level both in Canada and Europe. Ryan holds a Masters degree with a specialization in coaching hockey, from Charles University in Prague “Faculty of Sport”. Ryan holds the highest International coaching licence and Hockey Canada’s Advanced certification. Ryan currently works as an assistant coach at the Junior A level in Canada. Ryan is HDI’s Director of Hockey Operations.

Simon Ferguson

 

Simon is an experienced high performance BCMML – Okanagan Rockets Head Coach. Specializes in on-ice skill development. Championship pedigree – 2004 WHL & Memorial Cup Champion – Kelowna Rockets. 2010 AHL Calder Cup Champion – Hershey Bears.

 

Gerry Hoar

 

Gerry has worked as a manager and coach at every level of minor hockey in Canada. He has more than 17 years experience in the game. Gerry is HDI’s director of scouting and player identification. When in Europe Gerry is HDI’s team co-ordinator.

Josef Bruk

 

Former goaltender H.C. Litvinov, 5 time Czechoslovakia Extra League (Pro) Champion coach and current private coach of Dominik Hasek, current assistant coach of Sparta Prague (last year’s champions). Josef holds the highest International coaching licence and is considered one of the top coaches in the Czech Republic, one of the top goalie coaches in the world.

Jiri Nikl

 

Former Sparta Prague and Czechoslovak national team player/captain/World and Olympic Medalist, long time head coach of class system, for Sparta Prague (former coach of numerous NHL players – Hlavac, Vyborny, Kucera, etc.),  coached in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Presently head coach Kralupy H.C.  Jiri holds the highest International coaching licence.

Toni Neunenen

 

Toni is a graduate of Kisakallio Sport Academy in Finland. His background within the Finnish coaching ranks include work as the head coach of Helsinki’s Junior A Team. Toni has worked as a coach at the top level of almost every age catagory of the finnish minor development system. Toni is currently employed as Head of Coaching for Blues Matinkyla in Espoo, Finland.

Josef Riegl

 

Josef has an extensive background working with youth hockey in the Czech Republic. A former coach for Sparta Prague and current coach of Hvezda Prague (class program). Josef holds a masters degree in coaching (ice hockey) from Charles University in Prague. He holds the highest international coaching licence.

Marian Jelinek

 

Personal coach of Jaromir Jagr, current assistant coach of Sparta Prague (Czech Extra League-Pro), Marian has worked as assistant coach of the Czech Republic’s National Junior Team, and won the World Championship (gold medal) as assistant coach of the Czech Republic’s National Men’s Team. Marian holds a PHD from Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. Marian holds the highest international coaching licence.

Kari Waldenstrom

 

A former Sweedish Elite League Professional Player. Kari works with Sweeden’s National U-16 program. Kari holds the highest international coaching licence.

Goran Starnfeldt

 

From Tyringe Sweeden, Goran currently coaches the highest level of 1993 born Bantams and is the head coach of his region’s selected team for this same age catagory.

 

Radek Danek

 

Radek is the current and long time goalie coach for the Czech National Team Program working with U-16 to U-20 (world junior team). For the past 6 years Radek has been the head goalie coach for the Czech Republic’s U-20 program, 2 of those times as world champions (2000-2001).

 

Petr Hemsky
Petr Hemsky is is a former proffesional player within the Czech Extra League. He has worked formerly as the head coach in Pardubice E.L. For many years Petr has worked as a coach within the youth and junior development system in Pardubice, Czech Republic. Petr is the father of current NHLer Ales Hemsky. Petr holds the highest international coaching license.

 

Jiri Kalous

 

Jiri a former professional player in the Czech Extra League has worked for many years within the sport class system Slavia Prague. Jiri has coached within the Czech National Team Program at the U-18 and U-20 levels. Three of which he has been a part of gold medal teams at the world junior level. In 2008, Jiri helped lead Slavia Prague to the Czech Extra League Championship.

 

Karel Mlejnek

 

Karel is a former professional player and has worked for many years within the youth development system in the Czech Republic most of which have been spent at the Midget and Junior levels. In 2008 Karel’s Junior Team, Energy Karlovy Vary won the Czech National Championship.

 

Jakub Petr

 

Zdenek Skruzny

 

Coach of youth hockey for more than 20 years in the Czech sport class system, head coach of Czech national florbal team (silver and bronze medal from World Championships), head coach of florbal team Tatran Stresovice (8 times Czech Professional champion), currently coaching ice hockey professionally in Finland.  Zdenek holds the highest International coaching licence.

 

Jaroslav Kristofic

 

Jaroslav is a former Czech National Team athlete in the sport of gymnastics. Since 1992 he has worked as a Professer at Charles University’s Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, with a specialization in Gymnastics. Jaroslav is the auther of many publications dealing with sport training in general. His focus is utilizing balance and gymnastic technique for development of kinetic abilities within different sport specializations, including the sport of ice hockey.

 

Kevin Mackay

 

Kevin has a junior coaching career that has spanned more than 16 years and includes 3 league championships. His background includes work with the Canadian National Team program and the Alberta/B.C. Provincial Program of Excellence. Kevin holds a diploma in Physical Education, Bachelor of Sports Administration and a diploma from the National Coaching Institute of Canada. He holds Hockey Canada’s Advanced 2 Certification. Kevin is currently employed as the head coach/GM of the Kimberly Dynamiters of the KIJHL.

 

Robert Beatty

 

Robert (Bob) is the current head coach of the La Ronge Icewolves of the Saskatchewan Junior “A’ hockey League (last year’s league champions). As coach of the Humboldt Broncos Bob won the Royal Bank Cup. Robert is considered one of the most successful coaches in Canadian Junior A hockey today.

 

David Bruk

 

Former professional player in Germany, Norway, Italy and Czech Republic. Current head coach of Plzen, Czech Republic junior “A”. Heach Coach of the youth development program in HC Plzen, Czech Republic. Current assistant coach for the Czech national team development program.

 

Radek Skarda

 

Head coach of class system in Sokolov, long time youth and junior A hockey coach in Sokolov. Radek holds the highest International coaching licence.

 

Jaroslav Vasko

 

head coach of class system in Studenka, long time youth, junior and pro hockey coach in Studenka.

 

Tomas Peric

 

long time coach of youth hockey in Czech Republic (Kobra Prague, Hvezda Prague, Sparta Prague, etc.), professor at Charles University in Prague (the training centre for top Czech coaches) – Faculty of Physical Education and Sport –“field is ice-hockey and theory of sports training.” Member of methodics committee of Czech Ice Hockey Association. Tomas holds the highest International coaching licence.

 

Zbynek Zavadil

 

Former professional player and long time head of coaching for youth hockey development in Slavia Prague (Pro Team). Developed many excellent players, for example: David Volek, Tomas Vlasak and Richard Zamlicka are 3 of the many

 

Bedrich Scerban

 

Former long time Czech national team captain. Olympic silver medalist and world champion defenseman. Current General Manager of Dukla Jihlava, of the Czech extra league (pro).
